Waste Management in Westmont

Westmont College values its environment and the effect both students and staff leave on it. For example, Westmont's administration puts in bins to sort and manage garbage and recyclable items more efficiently. However, this merely hampered their goals as students are confused by these rules. My proposal involves to teach students on how to follow Westmont's expectation on waste management.

Westmont Orchestra: Why we Deserve GE Credit

The Westmont Orchestra is a vibrant and hardworking group consisting of some of the most talented musicians in the institution. Unfortunately, the artistry, commitment, and resilience of these students often goes unrecognized, especially by the Westmont administration. Considering all they contribute, giving General Education credit to the members of the orchestra is the sensible and right thing to do.

A Need for Counsel

More than half of college students are dropping out after their first year of college due to a lack of self-confidence and motivation within school. A demand by the students and parents for more health center services is rapidly increasing. A student should feel comfortable in the space they are learning in and with the help of Westmont College's counselors, this is possible.

Brightening the Night

Adequate nighttime lighting is essential for college campuses. Westmont college has little nighttime lighting due to Santa Barbara County's restrictions. While minimizing light pollution is a worthy goal, it is imperative that the county loosen its standards for the safety of the students.

Cleanliness in Page Hall

Page Hall is one of the oldest buildings on the Westmont campus, and it isn’t exactly the cleanest. How might the residents of Page solve this ongoing inconvenience? By taking the matters of cleaning into their own hands.
